The historic core of the complex, built in 1909 and now the Midway Arts Center, was originally built as a slaughterhouse. Later in the 20th century, the structure was used as a furniture warehouse. One of the largest and tallest buildings in Coatesville, it was renovated to offer art studios and office space for rent.
