One of the only remaining structures of the 130-acre Phoenix Steel Company, founded in 1790 as the Phoenix Iron Company, The Foundry has been repurposed into a premier event venue and the Schuylkill River Heritage Center.
The architectural heritage of the Foundry building was preserved, notably the exterior. Inside, the building's history is highlighted with the display of molds for railroad rails and the former steel company's iconic cast iron "Phoenix columns." Landscaping at the entry incorporates Phoenix columns into its design.
